Write for us
We welcome pitches that uncover a clear, lasting detail in sporting culture. Propose one focused subject, show why it matters to curious readers and explain how you would make it understandable without relying on insider knowledge.
What we are looking for
Ideas may explore sporting places, rituals, objects, belonging or language. Strong proposals have a defined angle, useful context and a clear distinction between fact, interpretation and personal observation. We are especially interested in subjects that remain useful beyond a single result or news cycle.
What to include
Send a short outline, a working title, the main point the piece will explain and a few lines about relevant experience or access. Mention any sources, images or potential conflicts that matter to the idea. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please do not send a complete article unless requested.
How to send a pitch
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option, then say clearly that your message is a pitch. Include your name and a way to reply. We cannot promise a response to every proposal, and we do not accept work that depends on unsupported claims or undisclosed promotional aims.
Sport is made in the moments around the game
Results matter, but they are not the whole experience. We pay attention to the spaces, objects and customs that help people share sport.
